  2. Zip 2.0 Update File
  3. ===================

  5. Purpose: 
  6. --------
  7. This patch provides Zip 2.0 file extraction capabilities to users
  8. of XTree for Windows version 1.5.  It will not operate on earlier
  9. versions of XTree for Windows.
  10.  
  11. Once this patch is successfully applied, you will be able to 
  12. extract and view files in Zip 2.0 archive files (in addition 
  13. to Zip 1.1 archive files).  "Multi-floppy" Zip 2.0 files are not 
  14. yet supported.
  15.  
  16. Installing the Patch:
  17. ---------------------
  18. 1) Copy the contents of this archive into your XTree for Windows
  19.    program directory (usually C:\XTREEWIN).
  20. 2) Close XTree for Windows and quit Windows (or open a DOS window).
  21.    XTree for Windows must not be running when this patch is applied.
  22. 3) You may want to make copies of the files listed below on a floppy
  23.    disk.  It is the only way to restore XTree for Windows to its 
  24.    original configuration.

  26.    Files to be updated:  XTREEWIN.EXE
  27.                          XTWZCFS.DLL
  28.                          XTWUZPE.DLL
  29.  
  30. 4) From the DOS prompt, type the word PATCH.  The update process
  31.    is now automatic.

  33.    When the patch is complete, check the following files to make sure
  34.    they are the correct size:

  36.                          XTREEWIN.EXE   83,968 bytes     
  37.                          XTWZCFS.DLL    48,575 bytes     
  38.                          XTWUZPE.DLL    72,535 bytes

  40. 5) The update is now complete.  You can restart XTree for Windows and
  41.    Windows, if necessary.

  63. reliability testing and is not feature-complete.  This release is made
  64. available to XTree users in order to access Zip 2.0 files outside of our
  65. upgrade cycle.  XTree assumes no liability for problems caused by this
  66. update and cannot provide technical support for Zip-related problems once
  67. the patch has been applied.
